Proper caring is necessary for your Coin Collection
Proper storing and caring for your coin collection is important to avoid depreciating the value. Seeing a coin collection that is well-presented is a most impressive sight. Fine coins require the same care and storage as precious jewels do, so you must handle and store them in the correct way. Coins should be encased in acid-free paper sleeves or envelopes, presented in a good-looking album, or arranged in felt-lined drawers. However, folders are not suitable for storing valuable coins, but you can use small PVC-free plastic bags. These are also suitable for when you want to sell Royal Mint coins.
Damaging coins
You may not be aware that skin oils and dirt can damage a coin with time and the way the coin is handled is important. Wear cotton gloves when you pick up a coin, holding it by the edges over a cloth or pad as protection in case it should inadvertently fall.
