New Security Features

For the 2017 Silver Maple Leaf, radial lines are added to the coin with precise specifications to within microns via the master tooling to ensure the coin is perfect from die to die and coin to coin. The coin has a unique look due to the width of the lines and pitch with the lines also creating a light diffracting pattern that can only be seen on this particular coin. The second security feature includes a textured maple leaf that has been micro engraved on the coin. Laser technology was used to add the number 17 to a small portion of the reverse side. This number can only be seen via a magnifying glass. This extra security measure helps to authenticate the coin further.
