The Design in Detail

All of the photographs were carefully chosen to give voice to the period of prosperity and growth of Canada. They were all taken from the Library and Archives Canada collection and included in the set to create a beautiful piece of art. Tony Bianco is the artist behind the design of the stunning centre coin and the picture of the Parliament built in 1866. The surrounding pieces carry sepia-coloured images and the side of the central coin has the effigies of the monarchs engraved by different sculptors.
